After graduating from Zeppelin University in 2013 I started working for Musikexpress and Rolling Stone immediately. For a year I didn't have time to travel, which made me kind of grumpy in the long run. So one of my new years resolutions for 2014 was it to travel more. When the opportunity came up to go to South Africa I was the first to say YES! Thanks to the great research of some friends we were really lucky to score some very cheap flights via the KLM Wild Wednesday offer (If you want to travel check it out!).
Going to South Africa was the fulfillment of a long dream for me. Ever since I've watched "Endless Summer" the age of 16 the country of long beaches, empty waves and safaris has appealed to me, and I always wanted to visit this place. I'm back in Germany now, but the next posts will be about the journey. In South Africa I was just too busy surfing, reading books, lying in hammocks - being in general overwhelmed by this country - to write blog articles, so I will catch up on this over the next days. And in case you've never seen it, here is the beginning of "The Endless Summer".
